Obituary for Alan Picco

Alan W. Picco, 78, of Oglesby, passed away Friday afternoon, October 6, 2017 at IVCH in Peru. Memorial services will be 6 p.m. Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at the Prey-Mueller Funeral Home in Oglesby with Rev. Scott Fulkerson officiating.  Full military rites will be conducted by the LaSalle-Oglesby Veteran’s Memorial Group following the services.  Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Picco was born on November 24, 1938 in LaSalle to Michael and Pearl (Weger) Picco.  He married Patricia McDonald on December 22, 1962 in Princeton, IL.  He served in the Army in the 82nd Airborne.  He worked as a truck driver for St. Louis Beverage Co. for more than 39 years.  He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Oglesby.  Alan enjoyed carving decoys and song birds.  He also has a passion for fishing and gardening. He is survived by his wife, Pat of Oglesby;  two sons, Daniel (Christie) Picco of Kernersville, NC and Jeffery (Kim) Picco of White Bear Lake, MN; 5 grandchildren, Brett, Austin, Sydney, Joshua and Haley; and two sisters, Sherry Leonatti of Oglesby and Roseann Rossi of Oglesby. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Norma Sokoloski Garcia; and one brother, Michael Picco, Jr. Memorial contributions may be directed to Parkinson Foundation.
